Lychee black
TASTING NOTES: lychee, apricot, honey
Smooth and well-rounded, with the bold, malty body of the black tea harmoniously balanced by the sweet, juicy notes of lychee. Comparable to a gentle muscat wine or a lightly sweetened peach iced tea, the flavor profile is simultaneously luxurious and refreshing, making it perfect for any time of day.

There’s a touch of romance in every cup of lychee black tea, a blend that captures the delicate sweetness of lychee fruit with the bold depth of fine black tea. Lychee black tea originates from Guangdong and Fujian provinces in southern China, regions celebrated for their traditional practices of infusing black tea with fruits and flowers. It is crafted with meticulous care: the tea is harvested and processed in the spring, then stored until summer when lychees reach their peak ripeness. The tea is then blended with fresh, unpeeled lychees and gently roasted to dry. This careful roasting allows the tea to absorb the rich, sweet flavor and floral aroma of the lychees, creating a tea with a distinctive, mouth-watering taste and a unique, fragrant profile.
Almond Cookies or shortbread
The buttery, nutty flavor of almond cookies or simple shortbread enhances the tea’s sweet, floral notes, creating a delicate and harmonious pairing perfect for an afternoon treat.
Berry tart or fruit pastries
Pastries filled with berries, stone fruits, or citrus pair wonderfully with lychee black tea, as the tea’s natural sweetness complements the tartness of the fruit.
Grilled chicken or duck
The tea’s fruity and floral notes cut through the richness of grilled meats glazed with hoisin or plum sauce, adding a refreshing contrast to the dish.
Soft cheeses
Creamy cheeses like brie or Camembert pair nicely with lychee black tea, with the tea’s gentle tannins balancing the richness of the cheese while the fruity notes add an elegant touch.
Macarons or light sponge cakes
Pair with delicate sweets like lychee or rose macarons, or a light sponge cake layered with cream and fruit. These desserts mirror the tea’s own soft, floral sweetness, making for a delightful tea-time pairing.
