Tea story

In the height of summer, when Japan’s tea fields bask under the golden sun, Takeo Farm carefully selects robust tea leaves for their seasonal sencha. Unlike the delicate first flush, this summer-picked sencha embraces the warmth of the season, developing a bolder, richer profile with deeper vegetal notes. The unshaded leaves grow under full sunlight, enhancing their concentration of catechins, resulting in a tea with refreshing astringency and a grounding depth.

Once harvested, the leaves are steamed immediately to lock in their bright green color and fresh, grassy aroma. A meticulous rolling process enhances the tea’s signature balance between umami and crisp, clean bitterness. This sencha is crafted for versatility—equally delicious when steeped traditionally for a brisk, invigorating brew or slow-infused in cold water for a smooth, naturally sweet experience. A perfect everyday tea, offering a cooling, revitalizing sip after a meal or during a warm afternoon.
