One bud and up to three leaves

Nestled in the heart of Menghai, where ancient tea traditions thrive, lies Bulang Mountain—an area celebrated for producing some of the most distinguished Puerh teas in the world. It is from this revered region that Daoshenggen's Classic Bulang Puerh emerges, a tea that captures the essence of the land and the mastery of generations of tea artisans.

Harvested in 2021, this ripe Puerh tea cake is a testament to the rich heritage of Bulang Mountain. The leaves, carefully selected and processed, have undergone a meticulous microbial fermentation, a technique that has been refined over centuries. This process transforms the tea into a smooth, mellow liquor that embodies the soul of the earth from which it sprang.

As you steep this tea, the leaves unfurl, releasing a dense, comforting aroma that speaks of the forest floor after a rain, of ancient woods and fertile soil. The first sip reveals rich, earthy notes that are both grounding and enveloping, a flavor profile that invites quiet contemplation and warmth.

Roasted beetroot and goat cheese salad
The sweet, earthy beets paired with tangy goat cheese and a drizzle of balsamic reduction highlight the tea’s own earthy and slightly sweet undertones. The contrast between the creamy cheese and the tea’s smoothness makes for a harmonious pairing.

Smoked duck breast with fig compote

The rich, smoky flavor of duck breast paired with the sweetness of fig compote complements the deep, robust flavors of the Puerh. The fruitiness of the figs brings out the tea’s subtle undertones, while the smokiness of the duck echoes the tea’s fermented depth.

Dark chocolate with sea salt
The bitterness of dark chocolate, balanced by a hint of sea salt, pairs beautifully with the earthy, slightly sweet notes of the Puerh. The richness of the chocolate enhances the tea’s depth, while the salt adds a touch of contrast that highlights the tea’s complexity.
