NEW HARVEST' 2024 | Premium Spring Sencha (Yabukita & Asatsuyu)

TASTING NOTES: spinach, seaweed, fresh-cut grass

This exceptional early-spring sencha combines the best of both worlds.
Yabukita leaves, lightly steamed for a clear liquor and multiple steeps, deliver a clean and balanced base. Asatsuyu leaves, traditionally steamed, add a touch of grassiness and a wave of rich umami for a full-bodied experience.

Enjoy a satisfying first steep with a hint of sweetness that blossoms on subsequent infusions. This exceptional blend offers great value and a captivating taste profile for every tea enthusiast.

3rd generation tea farmer Hiroki Matsumoto manages some 30 fields in the Kiriyama region of the Makinohara plain in Shimada, Shizuoka. He utilizes the UNESCO designated World Heritage agricultural tradition, Chagusaba, to cultivate his tea leaves. This tradition requires farmers to cultivate sasa grasses surrounding the tea fields, and use the grasses as fertilizer in the fields.

Regular steamed tea leaves create a balanced sencha green tea.
