Tea story

In 2001, the master fermenters of the Haiwan Tea Factory—co-founded by former Menghai director Mr. Zou Bingliang—pressed this batch of shou puerh into compact mini tuocha. The recipe was designed for balance and everyday comfort, blending select-grade leaves with precise fermentation control to avoid bitterness or excessive mustiness.

Stored in optimal conditions, these tuocha slowly matured over more than two decades. The small bird’s nest shape isn’t just convenient—it allows for slow, even aging and easy infusion. Unlike many mass-produced mini puerh, these retain exceptional quality in both leaf selection and aging character. A true Old Comrade, comforting and dependable.

Braised beef short ribs
The tea’s earthy depth and slight sweetness bring out the umami richness of slow-cooked beef, while cleansing the palate between bites.

Dark rye bread with caramelized onions
The bread’s deep grain and the sweetness of onions echo the tea’s brown sugar and forest floor notes, enhancing its aged character.

Black sesame mochi
The chewy texture and toasted sesame flavor pair beautifully with the tea’s smooth body and subtle mineral tones.
