Resembling a dark oolong in appearance but boasting a taste all its own, this tea has a remarkable origin story.
Bred in 1999 through a cross between a native Taiwanese tea species and a Burmese sinensis varietal, it was discovered by researchers at the Taiwan Tea Research and Extension Station to produce exceptional black tea.
Remarkably smooth on the palate, it delivers a candy-like concord grape flavor balanced by the astringency of grape skins, complemented by subtle hints of chamomile, mint, and fresh-cut flowers, reminiscent of bold Ceylon teas and vibrant, splashy colors.
Careful steeping allows for multiple balanced infusions, making it a delightful choice for those who appreciate fruity notes and delightful surprises.
