Tea story

Heritage Grade Uji Matcha Kuwari is a distinguished matcha that draws on centuries of tradition from the Zenjyoji area in Kyoto's Ujitawara region. This area, historically tied to the Zenjyoji temple, has been known for its rich tea-growing heritage, making it a prime location for crafting high-quality matcha.

The leaves for this matcha are shaded under modern canopies for 40 days, enriching them with a savory umami flavor. The leaves are then expertly refined by Nishide-san and stone-ground into a finely textured powder, capturing the essence of Uji matcha.

Awarded the Prix D'Argent at the Japanese Tea Selection Paris competition, Heritage Grade Uji Matcha Kuwari offers a beautifully smooth, deep green powder that delivers an intensely aromatic and umami-rich experience. The lingering sweetness and vibrant green color make this matcha a true celebration of Japanese craftsmanship and tradition.
