Tea story

Nestled in the rolling landscapes of Shizuoka, Japan, Tarui Tea Farm is known for its dedication to sustainable, pesticide-free cultivation and innovative tea craftsmanship. Among their most unique creations is this single-origin passion fruit black tea, a vibrant fusion of Japanese Karabeni black tea and locally grown passion fruit.

The journey begins with Karabeni tea leaves, a rare Japanese black tea variety cherished for its natural sweetness, smooth texture, and gentle tannins. These leaves are hand-picked in late June, at the peak of their flavor, then fermented to develop deep, honeyed notes. To elevate the experience, freshly harvested passion fruit is delicately blended into the tea, its tropical brightness weaving through the malty warmth of the leaves.

Once blended, the tea is aged in Tarui-san’s temperature-controlled warehouse, allowing the flavors to fully mature. The result is a lusciously smooth, fruity black tea, where the richness of Karabeni meets the exhilarating tang of passion fruit—a sip of sunshine in every cup. Perfect for afternoon indulgence, iced tea creations, or pairing with light pastries, this tea invites you to experience the artistry of Japanese black tea with a tropical twist.
