Tea Story

Scenting tea with jasmine is a process built on timing. The flowers open only at night, releasing their aroma in a short window. To capture this, freshly harvested blossoms are layered with finished green tea leaves while still warm.

This Chinese tea called Mao Jian, a style of fine, slender green tea, is chosen here for its light structure and clean profile. It acts as a base that carries aroma without adding weight. The tea and flowers are combined in cycles — layered, rested, then separated — sometimes repeated several times depending on the desired intensity.

The goal is not to flavor the tea, but to transfer the natural oils of the flower into the leaf. By the end of the process, the jasmine is no longer present as a visible ingredient, but remains fully in the aroma.

When brewed, the result is integrated rather than layered. The floral notes do not sit on top, but move with the tea — green and fresh at first, then softer and slightly sweet as the infusion cools.
