    About

Some teas are best understood slowly. Hot water is poured over the leaves, the first infusion is shared, and then the same leaves are brewed again. Each cup reveals something slightly different: a brighter aroma, a softer texture, a deeper sweetness.

This way of preparing tea is often called gongfu brewing. It uses small vessels and short infusions, giving the leaves room to change gradually. The gaiwan holds the tea while it brews. Its lid keeps the leaves inside as the infusion is poured into the clear glass fair cup, where the colour can be seen before the tea is divided between two cups.

Age of Innocence gathers this whole sequence into one compact set. The pale ceramic pieces have a soft ribbed surface, echoed by the lines of the transparent glass pitcher. Together they feel calm and familiar, without making the process seem formal or difficult.

The two cups make the set naturally suited to sharing, though it also works beautifully for one person moving slowly through several infusions. The included bag keeps every piece together, allowing the tea table to travel from the kitchen to the garden, a weekend away or any place where there is time for another cup.

    Use & Care

    How to Use

Warm the gaiwan, fair cup and teacups with hot water, then empty them.

Place loose tea leaves inside the gaiwan and add water at the temperature recommended for your tea. Cover with the lid and allow the leaves to infuse briefly.

Tilt the lid slightly and pour the full infusion into the glass fair cup, using the lid to hold back the leaves. Divide the tea between the two cups, then brew the same leaves again, allowing a little more time with each infusion when needed.

    How to Care

Rinse all pieces shortly after use and wash gently by hand with mild dish soap and a soft sponge.

Handle the glass fair cup carefully and avoid sudden changes in temperature. Do not use abrasive cleaners or metal brushes. Allow every piece to dry completely before placing it back inside the travel bag.
