Tea Story

In Japan, sakura is carried not only in landscape, but in food. It appears in sweets, syrups, confections, and preserved leaves used to mark the arrival of spring.

At Chasandai Tea Farm, sencha is paired with sugared sakura leaves, creating a blend that sits somewhere between tea and seasonal confection.

The tea itself is made in the traditional sencha style. After harvest, the leaves are steamed, rolled, and dried to preserve their bright green character. The sakura leaves are prepared separately, sweetened rather than salted, then blended with the finished tea.

What results is not a heavily flavored cup, but a green tea shaped by the language of spring desserts—fresh, fragrant, and slightly nostalgic.

This is a tea that feels close to hanami season, but interpreted through the table rather than the trees.
