About

A chashaku is a traditional scoop used for preparing matcha. Its long, slender handle keeps your fingers clear of the powder, while the curved tip gathers a small scoop and releases it with a gentle tap.

The pale bamboo pairs easily with your favorite bowl and whisk. Reach for it as the water warms, scoop your matcha and enjoy the familiar little steps of making a cup.

White bamboo gives the scoop a clean, understated appearance. The natural grain remains visible, and slight differences in tone make each piece feel a little less uniform. Beside a ceramic bowl and a dark tea tin, it is one of the lightest elements on the tray — both visually and physically.

At only three grams, the chashaku is almost imperceptible in the hand. Its usefulness comes from repetition: opening the matcha, taking the first scoop, levelling the amount by eye, and returning the tool to its place. Over time, this small beginning becomes part of the rhythm of making tea.
