About

A chasen is a bamboo whisk made for preparing matcha. The fine, flexible tips help mix the powder evenly into the water as you whisk.

Keep your movements light and let your wrist do the work. Once you get the hang of it, this little step becomes one of the nicest parts of making matcha.

Use & Care

How to Use

Soften the tips briefly in warm water before you start. Add sifted matcha and water to your bowl, then whisk quickly back and forth in a small M or W motion. Keep a light touch and avoid pressing the tips against the bottom of the bowl.

How to Care

Rinse the whisk in clean, lukewarm water after use. Skip the soap, sponges and dishwasher. Leave it somewhere airy to dry completely before putting it away.
