Tea Story

In the misty hills of Uji, where Japan’s most revered gyokuro is born, the Nishide family carefully selects the finest leaves for their Superior Uji Gyokuro. This tea follows a time-honored tradition—before harvest, the tea plants are shaded for three weeks, slowing their growth and intensifying their richness. The result is an elegant green tea brimming with deep umami, natural sweetness, and a silky smooth texture.

Once harvested in early spring, the leaves undergo light steaming, followed by meticulous rolling and drying to enhance their shape and preserve their delicate flavors.

Nishide Tea Factory, a 140-year-old family-run business, refines this tea with expertise, ensuring each batch meets the highest standards.

At the end, this gyokuro offers a luxurious experience, unfolding in multiple infusions, each sip revealing new dimensions — from a deep oceanic umami to a light, minty freshness.
