Matcha is ground into an extremely fine powder, but after opening it can naturally form small clumps from compression, static, or moisture in the air. These tiny clumps can make the final bowl feel uneven, with a gritty texture or small bitter spots.

A matcha sifter solves this before whisking begins. The fine 40-mesh screen gently breaks the powder apart and returns it to a light, airy texture, so it blends more easily with water and foams more evenly under the chasen.

Use & Care

How to Use

Place the sifter over a matcha bowl or small container. Add 1–2 chashaku scoops of matcha powder, then gently tap or press the powder through the mesh with a chashaku or small spoon.

After sifting, add warm water and whisk as usual. Sifting is especially helpful for usucha, matcha lattes, iced matcha, and any drink where a smooth texture matters.

How to Care

Rinse after use and wash gently with mild dish soap.
Dishwasher safe.
Make sure the sifter is completely dry before storing.
Avoid leaving damp matcha powder on the mesh.
Store in a dry place.
