Tea Story

In the Cederberg mountains of South Africa, rooibos grows in dry, sandy soil under strong sun. Unlike tea, it comes from a different plant altogether, and its character develops not through oxidation in the same way, but through a natural process that deepens its color and sweetness.

Rooibos has long been used as a base for blends, not because it dominates, but because it holds other elements well. Its natural sweetness allows sharper ingredients to settle into it.

In this blend, cacao and peppermint are added with restraint. The cacao brings depth — closer to cocoa nibs than sweetness — while the mint cuts through the body of the tea, keeping it from becoming heavy. The two don’t compete; they move in parallel, one grounding, the other lifting.

The result sits somewhere between drink and dessert, but without weight — defined more by balance than intensity.
