Tea Story

This is a famous Ceylon tea from Nuwara Eliya, the highest and coolest major tea district in Sri Lanka. Tea gardens here sit among misty slopes, mountain winds, and bright sunlight — conditions that slow leaf growth and help preserve aromatic freshness.

The name comes from a local legend tied to the surrounding hills, but the region’s real fame comes from its tea. Nuwara Eliya teas are known as the “champagne” style of Ceylon: lighter in body, brighter in character, and especially fragrant compared with lower-grown districts.

This tea is graded OP (Orange Pekoe), referring to long, wiry whole leaves rather than orange flavor. Such leaf style allows a clean, elegant infusion with clarity in the cup.

Produced through classic black tea methods — careful withering, rolling, oxidation, and drying. This tea really shows why high-grown Ceylon remains one of the world’s benchmark breakfast and afternoon teas.
